It is included because two Schnake sisters were married to Friedrich Wilhelm Doennig. Those sisters were Louise Christine Schnake who married Friedrich August 31, 1836 andChristine Marie Ilsabein Schnake who married Friedrich May 7, 1844. Both were daughters of Ernst Schnake. The descendants of the first Schnakes have multiplied and have scattered far from their original family home of Hilverdingsen by Unterlubbe, Westphalia, Prussia, West Germany to several states in America, including Illinois, and Missouri. |

The following explanation by the authors was translated by Roy Johnson: "It is important to know that the church books of the Bergkirchen parish only indicate house numbers starting rom the middle of the 18th century -- thus staring from approximately 1750. After this time it has become usual to use the document numbers of the tax lists as house numbers. Heinz Riechmann summarized all entries of the families of the Bergkirchen parish in his 1988 publication "Die Familien des Kirchspiels Bergkirchen, 1670 - 1770" (The families of the parish of Bergkirchen, 1650 - 1770) (German local kinship book). In the retroactive allocation of the Unterluebbe house numbers, unfortunately he made some errors in the tax registers and subsequent allocation of house-numbers does not tally with running numbers of the property register from 1682. This can be seen in the following lists of the Unterluebbe farmsteads." (Note: in the charts following, the author makes reference to these errors and corrects them.) Note also that the above correction is consistent with what we know about the Schnakes; i.e., that teh farmstead was at No. 19, not no. 21. -- Roy Johnson |

Whereas the said AS Wallill justly indebted to the said John P Tobin & Co. to wit: in the sum of $200.00 evidenced by his promissory note due and payable on or before 1 Nov for advances and supplies furnished to him as per book account by the said John P. Tobin & Co., that for and in consideration of the premises and for the sum of five dollars, in hand paid by the said John P. Tobin & Co. to the said A.S. Waddill has granted bargained and sold unto the said John P. Tobin & Co: one bay horse mule 7 years old about 15 hands high, 3 cows and calves. Also all the crops of cotton and corn planted and to be cultivated and gathered the said A.S. Waddill or hands under his control in the County of Bolivar. If payment shall be made due, then this indenture to be void. 10 November 1874. Book X, Page 386. A.S. Waddill of the County of Bolivar of the first part and John P. Tobin, J.D. Zeigler, and R.R. Wilson of the second part. A.S. Waddill justly indebted to the said Jno P. Tobin and Co, the sum of $462.00 evidenced by his promissory note for said amount due and payable, to enable the said A.S. Waddill to carry on and cultivate the farm or piece of land occupied by him. Witnesseth that A.S. Waddill hath granted bargained and sold to the said Jno P Tobin & Co the following described property to wit: one brown horse mule about 10 years old, one wagon, 3 cows named Sal, Pink & Beauty, marked with a hole in right and split in left ear. Also 2 Yearlings same mark. 17 July 1875. Book X, Page 509. A.S. Waddill of the County of Bolivar of the first part and Henry Frank and David Renaich doing business at Pride's Paints under the firm name and slyte of Frank & Renaich of the second part. In consideration of one dollar payed to the first part by the parties of the second part, hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, grant and bargain unto the parties of the second part the described property as follows: 2 cows and calves, one five horse wagon, and the crop of cotton and corn raised by him in the Niles place in Bolivar County. Whereas the party of the first part is indebted to the second party for money, goods, wants, merchandise, and supplies as advanced by the open account of the party of the first part. |
