Notes - August was said to have been the first organsit of St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Nashville. He played the melodeon which has parents had brought from Germany and which is now a part of our Washington Co. Historical Museum.
August and Martha lived in Aviston, Illinois, where he practiced medicine, having graduated on March 4, 1875, from Missouri Medical College, St. Louis, Mo. His license to practice in the State of Illinois is dated 1877. Both died at an early age, just six months apart. He was 33 and she 30.
