    Notes:

    William attended Pleasant Hill School and the German Evangelical Parochial School in Hoyleton.
    He was a farmer all his life except about one year, 1901, when he worked for the Granite City Steel Co. at Granite City, Illinois.
    Wiliam raised registered Holstein and Guersey dairy cattle and during his later years he raised Registered Polled Hereford cattle. During the pre-tractor days he raised horses and mules and it was not unusual to have more horses and mules than cows onthe farm. He quit farming, July of 1967, and celebrated his 100th birthday December 22, 1978. His brother Edard observed his 102nd birthday December 13, 1978.

    Marvin attended Pleasant Hill Elementary School eight years, Hoyleton High School two years and the finishing two years at Centralia Twp. High School. He went to University of Illinois 1937 to June of 1941 when he graduated with a degree in agriculture. He started farming at that time and has made that his career, except for teaching Agriculture and Science Courses at Ashley High School 1947-1948.
    Ruth and Marvin were married at Wesley Methodist Church (now Grace United Methodist) August 11, 1944. At that time they moved to a farm two and one half miles west of Richview, six miles south of Hoyleton and ten miles northeast of Nashville. To this union a daughter Janet was born March 26, 1946.
    Marvin has served on Wash. Co. Soil Conservation District Board, Co. School Board of Trustees, Co. Farm Bureau, Nashville Community High School Board of Education, Co. Health Improvement Assoc., Ill. Health Improvement Assoc., Wash. Co. Service Co. and has held various offices of the Church and Sunday School of Bethel Methodist Church of Hoyleton, Illinois.

    MARVIN married RUMIG RUTH on 11 Aug 1944. RUTH (daughter of RUMIG WILLIAM EARNST and RICHARDS PEARL) was born on 9 Oct 1918 in On farm south of Nashville, Illinois; died on 26 Sep 2003 in Washington County Memorial Hospital Extended Care Wing, Nashville, Illinois; was buried in North Prairie Cemetery, Washington County, Illinois.
