    Claire Sparks, Monteith said that her mother, Katie McCullar told of a trip to Texas about 1881 with her father and mother, James Edward McCullar and Eliza
    Jane Alexander McCullar, to visit this family at Boston, Bowie Co., Texas, and some other members of the family lived at Redwater, about ten miles S.E. of Boston. From 1890 to 1900, Claire's grandmother had infrequent letters from John Davis McCullar, who was probably the son of John M. McCullar Jr.
