    Florence Krughoff per her copy of information from F. W. Krughoff Sr. Bible has his name as COL. ERNST CHRISTIAN LUDWIG (LOUIS) kRUGHOFF.
    Carol Hotz in her in her compilation of Krughoff/Peithmann Families completed in April 1999 states that he was confirmed at Bergkerchen in Germany.

    Caused by a piece of shell at, and during the siege of Ft. Donaldson Tenn. Feb. 15, 1862 by striking me on head about 1 1/2 to the left of the center of the skull causing a fracture, etc.
    There is a copy in the Krughoff file of a sworn statement of George L. Watts who was a witness to the above injury.
    Served in Civil War from Illinois in the Union Army in Infantry and Cavalry.
