      !BIRTH: Ca. 1740 based on daughter, Nancy's birth of ca. 1760.

      !MILITARY: "The following signers in Culpepper County legislative petitions in
      the 1770's on record in the Virginia State Library are presumed to be
      minutemen". John Ping was on the list.

      "A list of Classes in Culpepper Co. for Jan. 1781 - for recruiting this States'
      quota of Troops to serve in the Continental Army". John Ping named "64 on this
      list though no record can be found of his serving in the army.

      !RESIDENCE: Culpepper Co., Va. prior to 1787, Kentucky afterwards, maybe 1781.
      Lived on Cedar Creek, a tributary of Buck Creek (1792). On Jun 1799 a survey
      was made for him on Buck Creek.

      !TAX LIST: 1787 Lincoln Co., Ky Tax List; John Ping, Jr. & John Ping, Jr.

      !DEATH: Last record of him living is 1823 exemption from the Pulaski Co., Ky
      Tax.
