  Per Larry Herrin: !LINEAGE: Francis James Dallet, Archivist, Univ. of Pennsylvania. Letter dated 27 May 1975 (copy in my possession). !DEATH: Meade, Guthrie (1990), "Lord John Gilliland Family", 10th page, Meade: Franfort, Ky. The only people of this name appearing in the 1800 Maryland Census are Margaret Gillalan [p. 163] & Hestor Gillerlin [p. 180], both residing in Frederick Co., but no John. There is little doubt that Hestor was the widow of John Gilliland (1706-1790), who resided in Chester Co., Pa., at least as early as 1765 and probably died in Frederick Co., Md. We know that John died on the way from Chester Co., Md to his daughter's in Frederick Co., Md, but we don't know exactly where (my note, L. Herrin; see notes for John Gilliland).
