      !MILITARY:
      Benjamin and father, Samuel, were taken prisoner and marched to Detroit
      where they were held prisoner for 4 years and 2 months. They later re-
      turned to Kentucky.

      !BURIAL:
      Buried in Old Wilderness Benjamin Van Hook Cemetery near Brodhead, Kentucky. A
      photograph of his monument is on file as well as photos of the old VanHook
      Homestead. Information was taken from Fred VanHooks "The VanHook Family" of
      Wilson County Tennessee.
