!MILITARY: a) Dept of Interior Pension Office Sep 8, 1882. Request for hospital
treatment for no. 402302 of James F. Herrin late a private Co F 2 regmt Ky Cav
for chronic piles and rheumatism contracted at Munfordsville Ky in Jan 1862.
Treatment was in the hospital at Louisville, Ky. discharged Oct 12, 1864, staed
by claimant.
b) War Dept. Surgeon General's Office Washington D. C. Mch 24,
1883. Claim No. 402302. Pvt. J. F. Herring Co F 2 Ky Cav admitted to G. H. at
Louisville Ky Jan 8, 1862 with bronchitis and returned to service Jan 20, 1862.
c) General Affadavit 40.2.2302 in the matter of James F. Herrin
by Shadrack Estepp. (Declaration that Estepp had knowledge of the piles and
rheumatism of James F. Herrin for pension approval). Oct 19, 1886.
d) General Affadavit 40.2.302 in the matter of James F. Herrin by
William Johnson. (Declaration by Johnson that claimant James F. Herrin suffered
greatly from piles and that he served in Captain Charles Zachary's Company F
Second Ky Cavaly of Volunteers for pension approval). Dec. 21, 1886.
e) Bureau of Pensions Cert. No. 367911 Jas F. Herrin. Married to
Elisabeth J. Randall Nov 1, 1866 by Rev. Josiah Claunch, record exists in bible
at home and in clerk's office, and he had not been previously married. He
listed 10 living children and their birth dates. Mar 4, 1898.
f) Claim for Pension 357911 by James F. Herrin, May 22, 1912.
Claimant states that he is 78 years of age and a resident of near Grundy P.O.
and that he enrolled at Camp Joe Holt Ind 9th July 1861 as a private in Co. F
2nd Ky Cavalry in the service of the United States during the Civil War and
that he also served in W. P. Ingram's Co. D Ky State Vol Halls gap Battalion.
He had light complexion, blue eyes, light hair,, was 6' 1" tall and a farmer,
born May 29, 1841. He "is a pensioner under cert. no. 367911. Current address
is Shopville, Pulaski Co., Ky.
g) Physicians Affadavit Proof of Physical Disability Pulaski Co. Ky.
In the Pension Claim No. 367.911 of James F. Herrin late of Co F 2nd Ky Vol
Cavalry. Jas A. Bante of Somerset made oath that he had treated James F.
Herrin for chronic diarhea at intervals of every 2 or 3 months accompanied by
portruding piles, palpitation of the heart made worse by the least bodily
exertion and that he performed not more than half a man labor. Nov 16, 1906.
h) Declaration for Widows Pension, Pulaski Co. Ky Sept 5, 1912 by
Elisabeth J. Herrin aged 61 a resident of Shopville, Pulaski Co., Ky, a widow
of James F. Herrin who enrolled at Stanford July 9, 1861 as a private in Co F
2nd Regmt Ky Cavalry and honorably discharged Oct 12, 1864. He also served as
Sergt. of Capt. W. P. Seagram Co. D Halls Gap Regmt of Ky State Volunteers from
Mar 1, 1865 serving 1 year or during the war. She was married under
the name of Elisabeth J. Randall at James Randall's home on Nov 1,
1866 by Josiah Claunch and had not been previously married. That said soldier
died Aug 20, 1912 at his home at Shopville, Ky. That her post office address
is Shopville, Pulaski Co. Ky.. Sep 5, 1912.
i) Dept of Interior Pensioner Dropped Cert. no. 367911 James F.
herrin who was last paid at $17 to Aug 4, 1912 dropped due to death Aug 20,

He lived at the time of his death on the Grundy Rd. just south of the
Somerset/London Rd. right at the 2nd bend, on the left and upon the hill.
Joseph lived across the road and south a few hundred yards.
!MILITARY: Served in the U.S. Army in the Civil War. Rank: Sergeant (Company F
2nd Regiment Volunteer Calvary). Served from 7 Jul 1861 until 12 Oct 1864.
Disabilities incurred: chronic diarhea, piles and rhumatism.
