    • Margaret Ingels, the first woman to receive an academic degree in mechanical engineering, graduated from the College of Engineering, University of Kentucky, in 1916 and later received a Master's degree from the same institution. She now lives in Syracuse, New York, and is the Engineering Editor, Carrier Corporation, Syracuse. ("Ingels Family" by Kate Ingels Peak and Margaret Ingels, 1945.
