  William came to America with his parents at the age of 5. As a young man, he farmed in the vicinity of North Prairie, until 1881, when they moved to a farm southeast of Hoyleton, Illnois, where he lived until 1920. He retired at that time and moved to Hoyleton, Illinois. Christian Freidrich Wilhelm Maschhoff was also in our database. Per Dean Maschoff, this was the same person as William Maschoff, Sr. so I combined their names and information on 12/20/01. wlg
