      Juliette Kiger, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Kiger, was born in the state of Indiana, September 24, 1846, and departed from this life at her home in Columbia, Iowa, February 7, 1924, at the age of 77 years, 4 months, 7 days.
      In early childhood she came with her parents to Iowa where they resided for a time in Jefferson county, removing later to Marion county, settling on a farm near Columbia, where she grew to young womanhood. On March 8, 1868, she was united in marriage to H.T. Stapp, who preceded her to the great beyond Aug 5, 1902.
      No children were born to this union, however. She leaves to mourn their loss, on brother, Andrew Kiger, of Woodbine, Iowa; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
      "Aunt Sis", as she was famililary known to everybody, possessed an exteremly kind disposition and was loved and reverenced by by all who knew her. She had been in fairly good health for oneof her age until a few days ago when she was stricken with paralysis from which disease she did not recover.
      Brief funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Friday, Feb. 8, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Strugell, after which interment was made in the Columbia cemetery.
