  [mccullar.ftw] Obit: newsdate Oct 12, 1999 Fred Duke of Pope, Ms. died Friday, Oct 8, 1999, at South Panola Community Hospital of heart failure. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct 11, at 2 p.m. at Dickens Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Rev. James Bailey officiating. Interment was in Liberty Hill Ch Cem. near Pope, Ms.. Dickens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Duke, son of the late Matthew Duke and Pearl McMinn Duke, was born on May 14, 1912 in Panola Co., Ms.. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Duke Houston of Pearl; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
