Notes - Edgar graduated from St. Louis University School of Dentistry in 1934 and has been a dentist for more than 45 years - however - he did serve his country as a dentist, in the Army Air Corps in Witchita Falls, Texas for 3 1/2 years during W.W. II. After returning to Nashville, he continued in the Reserves for 20 years, retiring in 1970 with the rank of Lt. Col. He has been active in Civic and church affairs in Nashville, such as charter member and past president of the Lions Club - member of Nashville Community High School Board during the time of construction of the new high school building - Elder of the Lutheran Church, etc. He continues to practice dentistry 3 1/2 days a week and enjoys suc hobbies as gardening, golf, fishing and restoring and caning antique furniture.
Edgar was a dentist for 54 years, retiring in 1988. After his retirement he devoted his time to refinishing and recaning antique furniture as well as tending his vegetable and rose gardens. He also enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
Edgar and Bernice celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 29, 1996.
Edgar died March 12, 1997, and is buried in the Lutheran Cemetery, Nashville, IL. Edgar was a veteran of World War II and was accorded military honors at the time of burial.
