    • Henry Ibendahl with his wife Dorothea Budendahl Ibendahl and five children, fred, Dora, Anna, Lizzie and William came to America from Hanover, Germany in 1885. They settled on a farm in Washington County near Oakdale, Henry, Jr. was born here. These 6 children planted their roots in our county by marrying spouses from here, Namely: Fred married Anna Schroeder, Anna married William Schwengels, Lizzie married Fred Middendorf, William married Sophie Schmale, Henry Jr. married Kate Stroh, and Dora married William Hellmeyer.
