  Postscript: the local Courhouse received in June 1815 from America the death and burial notice of David Hoffman. It was dated November 11, 1813, and signed by D. Heinrich Muehlenberg, Preacher in the City of Lancaster in Pennsylvania. It was testified, that he lived for several years in that city, and worked in a Butcher Shop. He lived a quiet christian life.
