      James Wesley Mitchell, son of William and Elizabeth Nease Mitchell was born December 27, 1865 and departed this life April the 4th, 1938, age 75 yrs 34 mo and 4 days. He was born in Missouri and came to Illinois when a small child. He grew to manhood at Janesville, Illinois. When just a boy he gave his heart to God and joined the Methodist Church at Janesville. He lived an examplery life and was loved by all who really knew him. On January the 22nd, 1907 he was married to Lena Burget. To this union 2 sons were born. Carroll near Claremont and Emerson at home with Mother. He was a faithful and loving companion, a guide and helper to his boys and a good neighbor. He will be greatly missed in the ome and the community in which he lived. He leaves to mourn their loss a faithful wife, two sons and a daughter in law whom he loved as an own daughter. One sister, Mattie Randrell, a host of neices, nephews and friends. Dearest Father, thou has left us and we had to say good bye but some day we will meet thee in those mansions in the sky.


      On his suffering of several months he was so patient and never murmered or complained.
