Notes - John was 14 years old when his father made the journey rom NJ to North Carolina. He was chain carrier on his father's land grants. He received a Revolutionay Pay Voucher #4334 for nine pounds for public claims in the upper Board of Auditors January 15, 1874 from Treasurer and Comptrollers Papers.
John moved to Wilkins co, NC in 1799.
He bought his first tract of land in Maury Co, Tn (which later became Marshall Co, TN in 1799.
