Special Dispatch to the Globe-Democrat.
Nashville, Ill. December 6.
The opening of the will of the late Theodore F. Brink, Rich merchant of Nashville, who left an estate worth $280,000, this morning aroused unusual interest, as the eight churches of Nashville, Forman Memorial M. E., First M. E., Wesley M. E., Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic St. Ann's, Evangelical and Lutheran - were each bequeathed $2000, although Brink never attended any services.
Brink, who had no children, bequeathed $10,000 a piece to the Evangelical Orphans Home in Hoyleton and the Baptist Orphanage in Irvington. $10,000 of the estate goes for a mausoleum in the Masonic cemetery and $500 for the upkeep.
Other bequests are: Red Cross, $5000; Humane Society, $5000; Miss Lou Lorenze, housekeeper, $10,000, and homestead, valued at over $10,000, during lifetime, and $5000 for upkeep; nieces and nephews of himself and wife, Julia Feltmeier Brink who died HJanuary 31, 1925, each $2000; North Prairie Cemetery $5000; Mrs. John Bobrink and Miss Lizzie Lorenz, former clerks, each $1000; three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Polk Atchison, former clerks, each $1000; Frank Heitmeier, $2000.
The rest of the estate is divided among the brothers and sisters of Mr. and Mrs. Brink.

941 Hans (or John) Jacob Landis has sometimes been confused with Benjamin Landis who was believed to be one of the three brothers who came to Philadelphia in 1717. Benjamin was actually the son of Jacob Landis. Jacob died at lampeter Township in 1730, he left no will and there is no record of his children. He was taxed at Lancaster County as Jacob Landis or sometimes John Jacob Landis. He warranted land in Lampeter Township in 1718 which was later patented by Benjamin Landis (his son.) Jacob lived near his brother Felix in Lampeter. LANDIS Jacob (I33235)

942 Hans Landis, "a pious witness of the Divine truth", was a pietist, or mennonite, preacher, who resided on the Swiss Rhine and ministered to those who were seeking after righteousness. The Council of Zurich ordered his arrest hoping thus to stop his teachings. The good man "was taken prisoner by his enemies and sent in irons from Zurich to the Papists at Solothurn." He was liberated on this occasion, but was retaken and sent to Zurich, where he was rigorously examined as to his doctrines and condemned to death: and, in September, 1614, he was beheaded with a sword. LANDIS Hans Heinrich (Heine) (I31688)
