ANDREW married PHELPS KATHRYN in Pulaski County, Kentucky. KATHRYN (daughter of PHELPS LORENZO DOW and BRIMSON SARAH) was born on 2 Jul 1831 in Pulaski County, Kentucky; died on 13 Jan 1904. [Group Sheet]

Per Larry Herrin:
!The Pulaski Co. KY 1860 Census shows James Randolph as 80 years old (Pg 158),
Somerset District. He is listed as a farmer born in North Carolina. His wife is
Jemima, 65 years old.

!There is a marker in the Peyton Randall Cemetery giving homage to him as an
early pioneer and settler og Pulaski County; by his gr-gr-grandsons.
Ironically, this individual is too young to be their James Randolph, but is
probably Peyton Randolph's brother. Peyton and James are more likely, the sons
of James Randolph, Jr., the husband of Matilda MacNear or McNear.

!A photo is on file of the monument to James and Jemima. However, the actual
grave is allegedly on the Denton Sears Farm on Bent Rd. in the old Randolph
Cemetery. It is on the bend before one comes to the Oather Randall Cemetery,
and is under the big tree by the farm gate. James Randolph, Jr. and Matilda
Meakner are believed to be buried there also, with stones labeled "J" and "M".
Mrs. Wanda Cheatham (d/o Denton Sears) said she saw the "Ole man Randolph
tombstone" back in 1955; her dad showed it to her."

!Marie Randolph's information shows James b-1783; d-1860, and that he came from
Caswell Co., NC.

JAMES married EARP JEMIMA (HARP) on 11 Oct 1813 in Caswell County, North Carolina. JEMIMA (daughter of EARP JOSIAH and STRAWN ELLENDER) was born in 1786 in Maryland; died after 1870 in Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky; was buried after 1870 in Bent, Pulaski County, Kentucky. [Group Sheet]

LORENZO married BRIMSON SARAH on 29 Jul 1826 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. SARAH (daughter of BRINSON JOHN and TAYLOR BELINDA) was born in 1808 in Kentucky; died on 13 Nov 1854 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. [Group Sheet]

Nimrod was born in 1789 in Virginia and Nimrod was the son of J. & Polly
Randolph. Gene Clark's Pedigree sheet shows him b. 17 Jan 1750 in Caswell Co.,
NC; m. Matilda McNair.

!BURIAL: Pulaski Co., KY Cemetery Records and photo of stone (on file with L.
Herrin)

He is buried in the old Randolph Cemetery on Denton Sear's Farm on
Bent R. about two miles south of Hwy. 80, on the bend before you arrive at
Oather Randall Cemetery. Pictures of the cemetery and his resting place is
on file. The stone is probably buried by the gate, according to Wanda
Cheatham, Denton Sears' daughter who saw the stone in 1955. His will says
he desired to be buried by his dec'd wife on the place on which he "now"
lives.

!NOTES: Marie Randolph's notes for her forthcoming book on the Randolph family
shows James Randolph, Jr. of Caswell Co., NC dying in Pulaski Co., Ky. His
birthdate is unknown, but his next #3 younger brother, Abraham, was born in
1760. James was married to Matilda or Martha McNear, MacNear or Meakne

JAMES married MEACHNER MATILDA A. MCNAIR in Caswell County, North Carolina. MATILDA was born about 1760 in Roanoke, Virginia; died on 23 Apr 1811 in Pulaski County, Kentucky; was buried in Apr 1811 in Bent, Pulaski County, Kentucky. [Group Sheet]
