Per Narratives of Randolph County, he was in the Civil War, operated a general store in Oakdale and was postmaster there for a time, was a member of U. P. Church and was presenter of music in that church for many years. He was married three times.
ROBERT married STERRETT MARY JANE. MARY (daughter of STERRETT GEORGE and AULD JANE) was born on 5 Mar 1836; died on 11 May 1881. [Group Sheet]
Children:- ARDREY JENNIE was born on 4 Jul 1867; died on 16 Feb 1951 in Chicago, Illinois; was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.
- ARDREY WILLIAM G. was born on 16 Aug 1869; died in 1950 in Denver, Colorado.
