Notes:

Henry served his country during the Civil War as a Private with Co. C., 49th Regisment, Illinois Infantry and was wounded in action.
Another Louis Koelling grew up in this family. His name was really Meyer but as was the custom in Germany, when parents died and children went to live with another family, they took their name.
