    !Jacob moved to Virginia in 1807 whre he died. He was a sergeant who was
    placed on the Pension Roll of Halifax Co., VA in 1833 for service as a
    private and sergeant in the NC line. He was a veteran of the battle of
    Kings Mountain.

    !RESIDENCE:
    Aaron and Catherine migrated from New Jersey area around 1750 for
    Pennsylvania and North Carolina. They settled in the Orange County, NC
    area which was later divided, forming Caswell Co., later Person Co. The
    Van Hook land laid in both counties. Their descendants came to Kentucky in the
    early 1800's.

    !WILL:
    Aaron purchased land in NC in 1756. His will was probated there in 1760.

    "Hosea Tapley had a grant from Earl Granville for 400 acres on Flat River on
    November 1, 1751, but in 1756 Hosea and his wife sold their property to Aaron
    Van Hook who moved in from Virginia and paid 50 pounds Virginia money for the
    tract. In this same part of the future Caswell County that was to become Person
    in 1792, William Barnett acquired 200 acres a few days before Christmas in
    1751."

    Spelling of last name was probably changed during Lawrence's lifetime.
    Lorenzior was commonly called Lawrence.

    !RESIDENCE:
    Lawrence moved from New York to New Jersey in 1712 with family.

    !VOCATION:
    Bernice Keister Book in the Tennessee State Archives, there are some
    facts recorded about Lawrence. New York records of 29 SEP 1700 show that
    the Mayor appointed him High Constable of the city. He was the assessor
    of the dock ward, 1705-6. He was listed in both the New York and New
    Jersey records as a merchant. He owned land in Monmouth Co., NJ., and
    houses and land in New York. He was also an Associate Justice of the
    Quarter Sessions of Monmouth Co., NJ from 1714 to 1721.
