    John Adcock, very ancient and sick, makes will - to Edward Connanay, all I possess except 1 shilling per each of my sons and daughters, Leonard Adcock, John Adcock, Bollin Adcock, Josehed, Sarah, and Elizabeth, Robert Adcock; If Edward Connonay assist me, John Adcock in my old age, all his life.     I, Leban Okely for £ 30 stg (sterling) sold to George Lowry (Loury), tract whereon Lowry now lives, part of tract granted to John Martin by Wm. Moultrie, 3 Apr. 1786. Recorded Bk. KKKK, p 324. Date 20 Oct. 1798. Signed Leban (his mark) Okely. Wit: John Burks, Isaac Loury, Bn. Starritt. Benjamin Starrit made oath to John Hallum, 11 Apr. 1799. Recorded 25 June 1799.


    State of South Carolina, John Martin empowered David Ross to make title to Leban Oakley for 400 acres where Oakley now lives...I, David Ross for £ 50 stg (sterling) sold to Leban Okley (sic) 400 acres granted to John Martin by Wm. Moultrie, 3 Apr 1785, on Middle Fork of Connoross of the Savannah River. Date: 15 Oct. 1798. Signed: David Ross for John Martin. Witnesses: Robert Powell, Daniel Daughty (sic), James Ross. Daniel Doty made oath to Joseph Reed, J.P., 17 Apr. 1799. Recorded 30 Apr., 1799.


    I, Leban Okely for 130 dollars sold to Ezekiel Stanley, 200 acres, part of tract granted John Martin by William Moultrie, 3 Apr. 1786. Recorded Bk. KKKK, p. 324, sold to David Ross, from Ross to Okely, on North fork of Conner (sic) Creek. Date: 7 May 1799. Signed: Leban (his mark) Okely. Wit: Daniel Doughty, Daniel Ledbetter. Daniel Ledbetter made oath to G.W. Earle, J.P., 21 May 1799.

    State of South Carolina. By his Excellency Paul Hamilton Governor and Commander in Chief in & over the state aforesaid. A Proclamation. Whereas I have received information that Daniel Doughty late of the District of Pendleton has been most barberously and wickedly destroyed by his wife Rachel , his step-father Laban Oakley, & a certain John Andrews, who disregarding all social, moreal, & religious ties did most treacherously & cruelly combine and conspire together and did infuse into the drink and food and medicine of the said Daniel Doughty repeated doses of vatobane or arsenic of the effects of which after the mose excrutiating tortures & lamentable sufferings the said Daniel Doughty did at last die. And whereas the siad Rachel the wife of the said Daniel Doughty and the said John Andrews have both been committed to Gaol under strong eviences of their guilt but Laban Oakley the step-father as aforesaid who is believed to have been the first mover of this wicked conspiracy has fled & Eludes the
