Carl was in Chicago we know for sure and worked on a pianoforte factory and as bootmaker for living, he also playing on dancingball in the
"Denmarksisters" some kind of organisation with the Danish Brotherhood in Chicago, but his old father (also shoemaker) called him back to homly beaches, as he said, to take over his fathers shoemakery, and he went back with his family Dec.12. 1908 from Chicago where he got a daughter born Lillien Marie b. July.5.1906.

He was a very educated person, before he take his teacher education
with best marks (1831-1834) from Skaarup Seminarium, he started his
teacher educ. in Flensborg 1824, then he works as teacher-helper,
then songteacher by a Organbuilder in Angeln, then teach-helper,
near Köln.
After his examination he works as Houseteacher by the Count in Hindsgaul
(outside Middelfart)Basse-Fønnss (1834-1838).
April 4. 1838 he started as headmaster and teacher in Staurby,
also he was a very competent church singer in Veilby Church,
and called to other churches around too until he died.
