  1. 6.  PEITHMANN MARVIN HERBERT was born on 8 Aug 1919 in On farm south of Hoyleton, Illinois (son of PEITHMANN WILLIAM GEORGE and HAUN MARY ALMA); died in 2001; was buried on 14 Jan 2001 in North Prairie Cemetery, Washington County, Illinois.

    Notes:

    Marvin attended Pleasant Hill Elementary School eight years, Hoyleton High School two years and the finishing two years at Centralia Twp. High School. He went to University of Illinois 1937 to June of 1941 when he graduated with a degree in agriculture. He started farming at that time and has made that his career, except for teaching Agriculture and Science Courses at Ashley High School 1947-1948.
    Ruth and Marvin were married at Wesley Methodist Church (now Grace United Methodist) August 11, 1944. At that time they moved to a farm two and one half miles west of Richview, six miles south of Hoyleton and ten miles northeast of Nashville. To this union a daughter Janet was born March 26, 1946.
    Marvin has served on Wash. Co. Soil Conservation District Board, Co. School Board of Trustees, Co. Farm Bureau, Nashville Community High School Board of Education, Co. Health Improvement Assoc., Ill. Health Improvement Assoc., Wash. Co. Service Co. and has held various offices of the Church and Sunday School of Bethel Methodist Church of Hoyleton, Illinois.

    MARVIN married RUMIG RUTH on 11 Aug 1944. RUTH (daughter of RUMIG WILLIAM EARNST and RICHARDS PEARL) was born on 9 Oct 1918 in On farm south of Nashville, Illinois; died on 26 Sep 2003 in Washington County Memorial Hospital Extended Care Wing, Nashville, Illinois; was buried in North Prairie Cemetery, Washington County, Illinois.     Notes:

    Ruth attended Locust Creek Elementary School eight years and four years at Nashville High School. Approximately four and one half years she clerked at "Reuter's Variety Store" (Located on the north side of Main Street, what is now a part of Gutzler's Furniture Store). At the time of her marriage to Marvin she was working in the Office of County Superintendent of Schools for Mr. Kenneth Frieman.
    Besides being homemaker and mother Ruth has served on Wash. Co. Home Bureau board as Vice-Pres. 1955 and Pres. 1956., Health Improvement Association Director of Richview Twp., Homemakers Extension Membership Chairman 1975 and 1976, a member of Wash. Co. Hospital Auxiliary and now does volunteer work at Hospital Gift Shop and has held various offices and duties in United Methodist Women, Church and Sunday School of Bethel Methodist Church, Hoyleton, Illinois.

  1. 12.  PEITHMANN WILLIAM GEORGE was born on 22 Dec 1878 in Celebrated 100th birthday on December 22, 1978; Hoyleton Township, Washington County, illinois (son of PEITHMANN EBERHARD FRIEDRICH HERMANN (RODEKOPF) and SCHNAKE LOUISE (LOUISA)); died on 14 Sep 1980 in On farm 2 1/2 mi. south of Hoyleton, Washington County, Illinois; was buried on 18 Sep 1980 in North Prairie Cemetery, Washington County, Illinois.

    Notes:

    William attended Pleasant Hill School and the German Evangelical Parochial School in Hoyleton.
    He was a farmer all his life except about one year, 1901, when he worked for the Granite City Steel Co. at Granite City, Illinois.
    Wiliam raised registered Holstein and Guersey dairy cattle and during his later years he raised Registered Polled Hereford cattle. During the pre-tractor days he raised horses and mules and it was not unusual to have more horses and mules than cows onthe farm. He quit farming, July of 1967, and celebrated his 100th birthday December 22, 1978. His brother Edard observed his 102nd birthday December 13, 1978.

    Notes:

    Her parents' home (farm) was recognized as a Centennial Farm in 1972 having been bought by John E. Haun Dec. 2, 1869 and is still owned by the family.

  3. 14.  RUMIG WILLIAM EARNST was born on 3 Aug 1888 in On a farm south of Nashville, Illinois (son of RUMIG PHILLIP and HOFFMAN CHRISTENA).

    Notes:

    William and Pearl spent their entire life in Washington County except for a few years in early 1900's William lived in Granite City and Madison area working for the B. & O. Railroad. About 1910 to 1918 William delivered block ice daily to homes and business places of Nashville for Steinhauser Ice and Power Plant located in southeast part of the city.
    In January of 1918 the family moved from Nashville to the William and Anna (Huegely) Weihe farm, William Rumig's birthplace, located three miles south of Nashville. The couple spent twenty- two years of their life on this farm. To the east of this homestead stood the Locust Creek Church and Cemetery, located in the church yard. The family attended services at this until the church closed down in the mid 1920's. The Locust Creek School was one long mile through the woods to the west, where Mildred and Ruth attended elementary school. Following grade school we went on to Nashville High School and instead of the one long mile walk we drove three miles of dirt roads.
    February 24, 1935 Mildred married Elmer Schnare.
    In 1940 William and Pearl semi-retired to a ten acre plot they owned, one mile east of Nashville. On August 11, 1944 Ruth married Marvin Peithman at the Wesley Methodist Church, Nashville, Illinois.
    The home was broken June 19, 1959 when Pearl, their mother, passed away. William lived another eleven years and nine months longer and passed away March 4, 1971. They are buried on St. Pauls Cemetery, Nashville, Illinois.
