Notes:

Matthew Jones was born abt 1640 in Wales. he came to Virginia about 1650 and lived on Mulberry island in Warwick county, VA. he married Elizabeth Albridgton Ridley, daughter of Francis Albridgton and widow of Col. Robert Ridley. They ahd at least two children, Matthew and another son. The son, whose name has not been determined, had at least two children, Matthew and margaret.

The Jones family came from VA, settled in NC on Crab Tree Creek, 12 miles from present-day Raleigh. He owned land on Swift Creek in Johnston County, Jacket Swamp in Edgecombe County, and Crab Tree Creek in Wake County, NC. It is believed that Albridgton and mary lived in that part of Edgecombe County that later became Halifax County.

Matthew married ALBRIDGTON Mary. Mary (daughter of ALBRIDGTON Francis) was born in in Warwick, VA. [Group Sheet]

2. JONES Robert was born in ABT. 1660.
3. JONES Matthew was born in ABT. 1680 in Isle of Wight, VA; died in UNKNOWN.
