    Notes:

    In 1765 , James, John and Joseph Phipps are listed on a petition to the Governor asking for a redress of fees. (The North Carolina colonial Records, Volume 7, page 737.) We do not know the exact date of death for Joseph, but we do know that he was still alive in 1769 because his youngest son, Isiah, was born that year.

    Joseph married ROMAL Mary in 1749 in Orange Co, NC. Mary (daughter of TURNER) was born in ABT. 1735; died in 1769 in Orange Co., NC. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    Settled in and lived near Tabernacle Church and is buried there. This church is about 4.5 miles SE of Greensboro, NC.

    Mary's mother is listed as a Turner who came from Holland.

    Aug. 17, 1760 - proved Aug. Court 1766 - Esaiah Phipps will to son Esaiah Phipps my plantation in Hamshire county, Virginia on south side of south Branch containing 249 acres adjoining Benja Forman and John Wilson, two horses; to my wife Ann Phipps, my plantation in Hamshire county, VA, containing 218 acres and also the plantation whereon I now live on both sides of Mill creek containing 200 acres that I bought of Andrew Hampton in Granville Co., NC and also all household goods, cattle, horses, hogs. Wts: Willm Berry, Thos Moore, John Fowler.
