  • Notes
    • Per Larry Herrin:
!Joel N. came to Tennessee with his mother after his father's death
which was sometime between 1821 and 1828. Joel N. presumably had a
brother who settled in the Kentucky area. Joel N. and his family
settled in tHe Barton's Creek area on the Franklin Road in Wilson County.
They lived in a log house just east of Barton's Creek. From records in
the Wison Co. Courthouse, Jel N. purchased 26 acres on Barton's Creek,
6 Jan. 1847 from William Hickman for $200. He later bought 23 acres on
4 May 1848 from Snowden Hickman for $230.

!He was a veteran of the Civil War and Pvt. Van Hook was a member of Com-
pany B 45th Infantry Regiment from Tennessee.

VETERAN: Civil War Records in Nashville and the book "Tennesseans in the
Civil War", Part 2. Wilson County Library.

!He fought at the Battle of Murphreesboro and was discharged 2 Feb. 1863.

      WILL:
