PAULINA ANNA CAROLINA ARNSMEYER Memories from Wanda L (Brink) Gines Grandma always had two treats for us: 1) butter, sugar, cinnamon bread, and 2) a little cloth filled with corn starch and tied up into a bag used to pat ourselves when it was very hot and we were sweaty. We used to enjoy playing on Grandma's stairs, and I can recall standing at the midpoint landing and repeating to anyone in hearing distance that "I'm Wanda Lee-er ever be-er Brink and I live upstairs." (age 4 to 5) wlg I recall being "entertained" at my grandma's house and Aunt Tootie giving me a permanent the day my baby brother was born. Sonny was born at our house and delivered by Dr. Charles Longwell. I was brought back home in time to see Dr. Longwell carrying the baby into the house. For years I thought the doctor just brought a baby to you when you decided you wanted one. Years later I learned he had taken the baby to his office to circumcise him. April 9, 1938.
